When Sam Smith stopped by for a virtual appearence on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen this week which aired on the 15th of October, the Grammy Award winner shared his recent experiences on a dating application called Hinge.

According to E! Online, Smith appeared on the show yesterday and he explained his feelings toward some of the dating applications, which he has grown to like over the past few months, with the exception of Hinge.

The star said to Andy that he took his advice and he joined a dating application called Hinge in the United Kingdom. Smith claims they booted him off the application not long after he created an account because they assumed it was a fake profile.

Smith says the moderators must’ve thought he was a “catfish” pretending to be Sam Smith. Cohen went on to tell Sam that the same thing has happened to him on dating applications, however, he knows someone who can verify both of them. Not only is Sam focused on dating these days, but he’s also working on new music. For instance, on the 17th of September, Sam dropped the music video for his new song, “Diamonds.” As most know, many celebrities have run into this problem on dating apps.

Sharon Stone also claimed she was booted off of a dating application because they thought she was an imposter. Fans of the actress know she is open and honest about her dating life lately, saying how things have changed a lot for her over the last few years.

Other celebrities have chosen to use the elite dating application, Raya, whose primary demographic is Instagram models and famous people. Stars such as Ben Affleck have joined it as well, and it’s more challenging to get on it.

Hannah Brown, The Bachelorette star, recently came forward to say that her application was denied. Regardless, dating apps have become a lot more popular since the coronavirus pandemic took hold of the United States back in March.
