Mechanical River has released the music video for the single “Pomelos”. The singer debuted the song as well as the music video on Billboard.

Directed by Emmy Award-winner Brandon Ward, the music video comprises of a static collage that was designed by Mechanical River’s friend. Talking about the collage, he said,

“We were going to use the static cover image and let the song play over it with no motion, but then we started playing with the idea of small movements and an bouncy-ball, sing-a-long thing. We were introduced to the guys at Frame Theory and they were patient enough to visually articulate every little spin and motion we asked them for. It was a fantastic and fun experience.”

Pomelos is the singer’s contemplation on life. The cinematic tune successfully manages to maintain the suspense but when one pays attention to the lyrics, one realizes that it’s a sad song that discusses sorrows and hardships of life.

This beautiful song concludes with the line,

“Some people don’t want to leave the earth,

But one day I will learn to die”.

It’s not a song that one would typically find playing on radio. In a plethora of music releases, songs like “Pomelos” tend to get lost. But the song is worth listening to.
