Julianne Hough In Black Two-Piece Workout Gear Says Whatever It Takes!

June 2024 · 3 minute read

Dancer and fitness guru Julianne Hough is giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how intense—and very fun—training can be for the star. Hough, 35, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a matching crop top, during a dance rehearsal with the text "sounds dancers make" over the footage. "Whatever it takes, I guess! 🤷‍♀️," she captioned the post. Hough is incredibly busy these days with hosting Dancing With the Stars—here's how she stays fit and healthy.

Hough loves spinning, hiking, weight training, and cardio, and obviously dance; frequently changing up her workouts depending on what her schedule looks like. "My rituals have to be slightly different," she told Hamptons Magazine. "My biggest thing right now is I'm less concerned about [getting in] the right workout every day… Because I have so much movement in my life, the thing that I need right now is more sleep and healthy nutrition, so that is fueling me because I'm already moving a bunch. So I just look at it like, what is my life calling for right now?"

Hough makes a point of carving out time for herself first thing in the day. "A lot of people put work and other things before personal time but then are too exhausted at the end of the day to do anything for themselves," she told PopSugar. "I believe that whatever it is you decide to do for yourself, whether it's yoga, painting, or cooking, it's best to do it in the morning so that you can feel inspired and energized for your day ahead. You can give more of yourself to your work and to others once you've given yourself some attention."

Hough takes good care of her skin, and wears as little makeup as possible on a day-to-day basis. "I always start with skin, so my EltaMD sunscreen is really important to me," she told Women's Health. "I love lip balm, so Laneige is a lip balm that I really love. It's like a mask, it's so thick. I love making sure my environment is like, candles lit or incense burning, just to create the experience and get my mindset in a really calming way, so I can self-regulate before I get crazy again with work stuff."

Hough is careful about the products she uses on her hair. "So here's the lowdown. If you're blonde, your hair tends to get a little brassy, so you can use a purple shampoo to revive your hue," she told PopSugar. "But sometimes if you leave it in too long, your hair can turn slightly gray. In order to get that brassy color out, you can rinse your hair with some dish soap, and it'll cancel out that ashy hue. It's not something I recommended doing often or in place of your shampoo, but it definitely helps in an emergency.

Hough started her wellness brand Kinrgy to help others with their health from a holistic standpoint. "The reason why I started Kinrgy in general was for my own growth and transformation and how dance really helped me with my own anxieties," she told Women's Health. "What it did for me, I wanted to share that with people. It gives permission to be fully expressed for your own unique version of who you are, that there is no right or wrong way to do anything. There is no perfection, it's about expression."
