While we've only just begun to uncover the many conspiracy theories behind the songs on Taylor Swift's surprise album evermore, Swifties are convinced even more music is on its way. On Friday, the singer shocked fans with the sister record to folklore, and it didn't take long for them to begin to wonder if the two albums are part of a trilogy, with the third one titled woodvale.
The internet is replete with clues, but the most compelling piece of evidence can be found in folklore's album art. In the black and white photo, the word "woodvale" is hidden in the trees. Initially, fans brushed it off as a possible song, but when evermore was released and "woodvale" wasn't on the track list, they concluded that the only reasonable explanation left is another album.
Another sign? Taylor's folklore merchandise has mysterious groupings of three. Not only are there three different cardigans, but each sweater has three stars on the sleeves. And all of her merch packages come with confetti in three shapes and colors, according to one fan.
Taylor herself admitted that she's been on a songwriting streak in quarantine, and couldn't pack them all into a single album.
Upon announcing the release of evermore, she tweeted: "To put it plainly, we just couldn't stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in."
Looks like it's time to get ready for another Easter egg hunt.
