Andy Grammer completely took over the House of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 1, 2019. The weekend and month started off with a burst of energy and positivity for those in attendance at Grammar’s final tour stop.

In a completely packed venue, fans of the ‘Fresh Eyes’ singer were in for a bit of a surprise at the very beginning of his set. He began his performance on a small elevated stage in the middle of the crowd  with just a microphone and his guitar. Through a spoken poem, often called slam poetry, Grammer instantly connected with his audience through a way of logical and constructive thinking about life. This eventually led to the first song on his setlist for Boston: “Naive.”

In what seemed like seconds, Grammer had suddenly made his way through an entire crowd and was on the main stage. This was, of course, after he took the time to high-five countless fans along the way. He immediately balanced his most popular hits with some more recent and hidden gems included in his discography to create an ideal experience for everyone in the audience. Within the first three songs, Grammer performed “Honey, I’m Good” and the crowd could not get enough of the catchy chart-topping hit. His powerful vocals filled the venue and immediately changed the mood in Boston with overwhelming passion.

Grammer included many tracks off of his latest album, Naive, throughout his set while still taking the time to address the crowd. His way of connecting with fans on-stage was sincere and genuine. It felt as though he was speaking to his friends or family about how all of the songs he wrote came together instead of speaking to those who greatly admire him from afar. Attendees were captivated by his stories and if it were up to him, he would probably speak to them for countless hours about music and their stories as well.

The plethora of tracks Andy Grammer has created over the span of the last decade provide listeners with all of the feelings they experience on a daily basis and more. His passion for the music he creates effortlessly comes alive when he is performing. It’s not only about the connection that he has to the music he creates, but his gratitude for those who love and connect with his lyrics as well. The joy it brings him to see his fans singing along to the words he wrote sometimes even years ago is evident through his smile and infectious energy while he performs. If anything were to be of concern at an Andy Grammer show, it would be that his nonstop smiling may cause his face some pain afterward. His positivity radiated throughout the venue and made it hard for fans to stop smiling too.

While this was the final stop on Andy Grammer’s current tour, it seems as though he won’t be away from the stage for too long based on this performance. His songs and the stories they explain come to life on stage in a way that can only be fully understood by those who have experienced it firsthand. This is the type of show that will make you smile, dance and cry because of how vulnerable and emotional some of the lyrics are. Grammer knows exactly how to connect with his audience and take advantage of the space a stage provides him. Through his lyrics and brief speeches in between songs, the singer allows his audience to see the world with fresh eyes.
